Hitachi extends widescreen options across the range with new WXGA LCD projectors

Hitachi Digital Media Group announced the extension of the WXGA widescreen format across its range of LCD projectors with the introduction of the CP-WX410 and the CP-WX625. With the same HD-ready capability as the ultra portable CPX3 launched in the spring, these two new models bring true 16:10 aspect ratio widescreen viewing so essential for seamless compatibility with modern laptops, to the families of multipurpose and installation projectors. Both models also benefit from the virtually maintenance free service schedule provided by the long life hybrid air filter that reduces both ownership costs as well as the environmental impact of the projectors.

“With 16:10 widescreen the standard specification for business laptops, Hitachi can now offer a full range of projectors to match this market trend and ensure that user presentations are displayed as originally intended. By combining widescreen and HD-ready capability with virtually maintenance free operation, these new models deliver future proof compatibility and low ownership costs,” said Axel Kutschke, Senior Manager, Presentation Products for Hitachi Digital Media Group.

Both projectors provide the popular features found on most Hitachi projectors that improve convenience and ease of use, enhance security and increase presentation quality. Functionality such as input source naming, resolution presets, whiteboard, blackboard and greenboard modes, quick start and instant off and the IR remote frequency change make the models easy to use while the “My Button” and new “My Text” features allow easy customisation. Renowned Hitachi security features include the transition detector, multi-level PIN locks, My Screen locks and tamper-proof security label as well as an improved security bar that now accepts a larger chain. Extensive connectivity options include an HDMI input on both models. The two also feature a day time mode, equalising gamma correction, noise reduction and progressive scan to ensure the highest image quality. Despite the difference in size and applications both models are impressively quiet, producing only 29dB in whisper mode.

Sitting alongside the CP-X401, the CP-WX410 squeezes exceptional performance and capability from its compact dimensions. With 3000 lumens and a 500:1 contrast ratio, the 3LCD 1280 x 800 resolution WXGA projector delivers bright, colourful images suitable for a wide range of environments. Quiet, highly portable and yet secure the CP-WX410 is also powerful enough to be permanently installed in even large rooms and learning environments.

“As the latest in the family to benefit from the new hybrid air filter designed to last at least 4000 hours in normal usage, the WXGA CP-WX410 offers value, versatility and compatibility” continues Axel Kutschke.

The CP-WX625 installation projector also features the new long life hybrid filter, which combined with the network-enabled monitoring and control software that automatically sends email alerts of impending service requirements, ensures that maintenance is reduced to virtually zero. This 4000 lumens model offers bright, high contrast images at 1000:1 by using an active iris as used on high end home projection systems.

“The CP-WX625 adds the market requirement for true widescreen capability and a reduction in total cost of ownership while continuing the tradition of the Hitachi’s 600 series projectors of offering customers quality, reliability, performance and simplicity in a compelling package for installation applications” adds Axel Kutschke.
