iF Design Award 2013

MAIDENHEAD, U.K. 7th March, 2013 – Following an intimate ceremony in Germany Hitachi is proud to announce that its new Installation Projector range the 8000 series has been awarded the highly coveted iF Gold Award.

Hitachi's 8000 projector series which includes the CP-X8150, CP-X8160, CP-WX8240, CP-WX8255, CP-WU8440 and the CP-WU8450 received the IF Gold award due to their ability to deliver large bright images without compromise. Soon this range will be extended further to include additional models that deliver even higher brightness levels.

Accompanied with a wide range of optional lenses, these flexible projectors have been carefully designed to cater for a wealth of large installation environments, including boardrooms, auditoriums, stage productions and creative applications. The models contain consolidated components to simplify and reduce maintenance. They also benefit from a slim low profile design enabling them to be easily installed. In the 5,000+ lumen class, the design of the 8000 series is thinnest of its kind enabling it to blend into its surroundings.

The iF product design awards are the most prestigious in the world and are hosted and judged by the iF-International Design Forum in Germany, the birth place of modern design. This is one of the most significant international design competitions and has been running since 1953. It is recognized around the world and judged not only on external appearance of the product, but also on criteria such as functionality and environmental performance.

Now in its 60th year the iF product design awards 2013 received 4352 entries from 51 countries, and only 75 out of 1410 were awarded as iF gold award. To obtain the Gold award is a great achievement. This is the 2nd consecutive year that Hitachi's projectors have been named as an iF Design Award winner and it is the second award this range of projectors has been awarded in recent months.

Hitachi is extremely honoured to have received this award.
